I’m so not happy right now. I have tried everything and still no change
has occurred. Infact the recent shedding was overboard. I can’t take it
anymore. I just want my hair to grow but instead it’s breaking. I know it takes
a lot of patience but mehnnnn this breakage is just not it at all.

The little hair I have is really
suffering oh. Ahahn it’s just not fair that I can’t grow my hair in a month
without it shedding. I recently loosen my weave and instead of seeing growth. I
saw something else.

Please someone should educate me more
because Google keeps telling me the same thing I have tried, more frequent dcs and
hot oil treatment. I am aware that a particular hair regimen can’t work for
everyone but sharing it with others would determine if it would or not. So pls
share with me on how to prevent my precious baby (my hair) from going off totally.

Tea rinse will help greatly….i also learnt that coffee rinse works far better than tea rinse. After the tea rinse you MUST deep condition for hours with a moisturising conditioner or few minutes under a steamer or hair dryer.

thanks ugo. tried the tea rinse today and a dc. i had minimal breakage. just hope it stays that way. wud try the coffee too
loool. sorry dear.
I feel so bad when I hear women screaming for help about shedded hair because I have gone through the same thing. The number one thing you need to do is find out why your hair is shedding. Stop using your current shampoo, or stop any new product you just added to your regimen. Make sure you cleanse your scalp when wearing protective styles like weaves. Don't keep your braids on for too long. Black TEA RINSE or COFFEE RINSE is your best friend right now. Air your hair out. Take a break from too much pressure on your scalp. Wear a wig if you have to, but braiding your hair too tight can be the problem. I lost my edges too. Now Jamaican Black Castor oil is helping. Take biotin if you can, but remember you have to drink a lot of water with biotin so your skin does not break out. Protein is not for every hair type. So stay away from it for a while. I hope this helps. Do you moisturize your ends everyday and seal them with oil?
Thank you Nerline. Was never planning on taking biotin cos I want my hair to grow naturally. well, guess i wud try. Plus i mosturize my ends only when I feel itz dry but not everyday. Wud add that to my regimen. Thanks again
I was panicking about my hair shedding a lot, just about a year ago when I started growing out my hair, until I learnt more about hair shedding. I learn't it was an accumulation of all the normal hair I would have shed on a daily basis. Humans shed an average of 150 hairs in a day and since your hair was in a protective style (I am not sure for how long it was), the shed hair didn't fall off during detangling or styling.

Thanks Onyeka. Was told recently about this discovery too. Guess I was just too scared seeing so much hair fall off.
Oh dear, I know how it hurts. Don't really know about natural hair, but since I started using Shea-butter I've not had any significant breakage… Goodluck on ur hair journey.

Sorry to hear this! I think the problem is coming from the root! try applying castor oil to thicken your hair! It might help 🙂

thank u jenny
I know how this feels, happened to me two years ago, after taking out a weave. It sucks. What I did was to avoid tight hairstyles and at the time, my hair was in the transitioning stage, so protein treatments helped to strengthen my hair. I hope you find something that works!
